On July 26, 2025, Jaipur International Airport and the Chief Minister’s Office (CMO) in Rajasthan received a bomb threat email warning that both locations would be “blown up within one to two hours.” The message was sent to the airport’s official email ID.
In response, multiple agencies including Jaipur Police, CISF, bomb disposal squad, anti-sabotage unit, fire brigade, and civil defence teams were immediately deployed to both sites. They cordoned off the premises and conducted exhaustive search operations, while sniffer dogs and CCTV footage reviews supported the efforts. Authorities later confirmed that no explosives or suspicious items were found and the threat was determined to be a hoax.
This incident is part of a troubling trend in Jaipur: in 2025 alone, more than 65 hoax bomb threats targeted schools, hospitals, stadiums, metro stations, courts, and government offices. The airport has received nine threat emails in the past two years. Cyber officials have identified a suspect involved in earlier hoaxes.
Senior police officials reaffirmed that while no threat was found, the city’s response protocols will remain active. A cyber investigation is underway to trace the email’s origin and hold perpetrators accountable.
