Tanmay Bhat’s recent appearance—featuring a dramatically slimmer physique went viral on social media, with users calling it a “Karan Johar lookalike transformation.”
Previously weighing around 168 kg, he has shed more than 50 kg through a blend of lifestyle changes, consistent workouts, and mental discipline. As revealed in a podcast, he prioritised health above all else, setting a non‑negotiable fitness slot between 5 PM and 7:30 PM, reserved for badminton and gym sessions.
Tanmay credits his success to habit stacking—overlaying weight training with badminton—and adopting fasted cardio routines alongside two yoga sessions weekly. This approach helped him drastically reduce workout time from June to August while maintaining results: June had 57 sessions, July dropped to 43, and August saw just 16.
He emphasised that quality and enjoyment of activities mattered more than volume.
His transformation story resonated with many—not just due to the physical changes, but because of the realistic approach: consistency, smart scheduling, and mental resilience over gimmicks. Tanmay’s journey highlights how sustainable habits and self-accountability can lead to significant, lasting change.
