At a Vijay Diwas event in Lucknow on July 26, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath praised the decisiveness of the Indian Army, asserting that India struck back against Pakistan within 22 minutes of the 2019 Pulwama terrorist attack. He said the army “destroyed terrorist camps and forced the country to surrender,” showcasing swift retaliation following the bombing that claimed 40 CRPF lives.
Adityanath also criticized past political failures, stating: “We do not lack warriors, glory, or intellect, but at that time, some individuals divided the country for their interests, leading to its enslavement.” He emphasized that India’s strength lies in unity and resolve, not political divisions.
His remarks triggered mixed responses—supporters cheered the commemoration of Kargil Vijay Diwas and the emphasis on military readiness, while critics questioned the accuracy of the "22 minutes" claim. Regardless, the tone reinforced the message that India remains prepared to protect its sovereignty at speed and strength.
