These 3 Indian dishes got globally ranked among the best breakfasts!

Celebrated food guide Taste Atlas has included three Indian breakfast classics in its prestigious “50 Best Breakfasts in the World” list, released in early June 2025. The list highlights dishes from across the globe that are rich in tradition, flavour, and regional significance.

Topping the Indian entries is Misal Pav, a Maharashtrian delight featuring a spicy moth bean curry, crispy savoury toppings, cooling curd, and bright garnishes like onions and coriander. Praise surrounds its vibrant texture and visual appeal, with Taste Atlas describing it as a “work of art”. Misal Pav claimed an impressive 18th spot overall.

Next is Paratha, the versatile Indian flatbread ranked 23rd. Made by cooking layered whole wheat dough in ghee and often filled with ingredients like potatoes, cauliflower, paneer, or radish, parathas in North India are typically served with pickles, chutneys, curd—or even a cooling glass of lassi in Punjab.

Thirdly, Chole Bhature, the hearty North Indian duo of spicy chickpeas and fried bread, secured 32nd place. Originating in 1940s Delhi, it’s traditionally complemented by onions, pickles, mint chutney, and lassi—a substantial breakfast staple at street carts and home kitchens alike.
