This New Dating App wants your LinkedIn before you can swipe right!

In the crowded world of dating apps, Match Group’s The League has carved out a niche by connecting ambition-driven singles through their professional credentials. Unlike casual swipe apps like Tinder, The League requires applicants to submit their LinkedIn and Facebook profiles as part of the vetting process. The founding idea was simple: create a platform where career-oriented users can meet potential matches who share similar goals and lifestyles.
The app is invite-only and selects around 10-20% of applicants, based on criteria such as education, work experience and social-network presence. It claims to eliminate awkward matches with coworkers or ex-colleagues by cross-referencing LinkedIn data. In 2025, The League expanded its invite-only model into India, launching in Mumbai and Delhi and promising “elevated” modern dating for professionals in a new demographic context.

For professionals who treat dating like networking, The League offers an alternative to traditional apps — yet its exclusivity and emphasis on career-credentials raise questions about elitism and accessibility in modern love markets.
