In the wake of high-stakes airstrikes on Iranian nuclear sites, U.S. officials have formally briefed allies on the details of the classified military operation—codenamed Midnight Hammer. The mission, carried out by B-2 stealth bombers and cruise missiles, targeted Iran’s Fordow, Natanz, and Isfahan facilities, aiming to degrade Tehran’s nuclear capabilities following its missile escalation against Israel.
A senior U.S. defense official declared, “When this President speaks, the world should listen,” emphasizing the operation’s global message about American resolve and deterrence. The Pentagon stated that the strikes were designed to be limited and precise, avoiding civilian casualties while sending a clear signal to Tehran and its allies.
The U.S. also clarified that the move was a direct response to Iranian threats and missile launches, not an act of war, and maintained that Washington seeks de-escalation if Iran halts hostilities. Meanwhile, allies including the UK, France, and Japan were reportedly informed in advance of the mission’s timing and targets.
Iran, however, has condemned the attack as an act of aggression and vowed retaliation. With tensions high and regional instability worsening, world leaders are calling for calm as fears mount over the possibility of a wider Middle East conflict.
