Brain fog—marked by confusion, memory issues, and lack of focus—is on the rise in India. According to Dr. Furqan Khan, Consultant Neurologist at Saifee Hospital, this increase is linked to multiple factors like digital overload, post-COVID effects, stress, poor sleep, and nutrition deficiencies.
Younger generations are especially affected due to excessive screen time, leading to reduced attention spans. Long COVID symptoms, academic and work-related stress, and poor diets low in Vitamin B12 and omega-3s further worsen the issue. Environmental stressors like heat and humidity also contribute to mental fatigue.
Treatment options include:
-
Digital detox
-
Balanced diet
-
Regular exercise
-
Consistent sleep schedule
-
Mindfulness and stress management techniques
If symptoms persist, it’s important to consult a medical professional. Addressing brain fog early can help improve mental clarity, productivity, and overall well-being in the long run.
