After Labubu’s internet takeover, Japan has a new contender for viral fame - Mirumi, a tiny furry robot that’s winning hearts without flashy tech. Designed by Tokyo-based Yukai Engineering, Mirumi isn’t loud or futuristic. Instead, it feels warm, shy, and oddly human.
Inspired by Japanese folklore and soft toy culture, Mirumi reacts to its surroundings with gentle head tilts, nods, and curious movements. These small gestures make it feel less like a gadget and more like a pocket-sized companion. People don’t just play with it - they emotionally connect with it.
What’s making Mirumi stand out is its form. It’s designed as a wearable charm that can be clipped onto bags or outfits, blending tech with fashion. On social media, users are already calling it an “anti-stress buddy,” sharing videos of its subtle reactions during daily routines.
Unveiled globally in 2025, Mirumi is expected to officially roll out in 2026 in soft pastel shades like pink, beige, and grey. As consumers move toward comforting, emotionally relatable products, Mirumi reflects a bigger trend - technology that doesn’t overwhelm, but quietly keeps you company.
