At just 17, Gurugram teenager Yuvan Aggarwal is quietly changing how Indian artisans earn a living. The idea struck him after meeting a local potter who struggled to make steady income despite having great skills. Yuvan realised the real problem wasn’t talent, but lack of access to buyers. That’s how Hunarsetu was born - a platform that connects artisans directly with customers.
What makes Hunarsetu different is its simplicity. Artisans don’t need to download apps or learn new technology. They sell through WhatsApp, in their own language, by sharing product photos and prices. Payments go directly to them, cutting out middlemen completely. Today, more than 4,000 artisans across India use the platform to sell handmade products and earn stable income.
Beyond money, Hunarsetu brings confidence and dignity to craftsmen who once depended only on seasonal sales. Yuvan’s journey proves that meaningful change doesn’t always need big funding - sometimes, it just needs empathy and a smart idea.
