Tensions along the Line of Control (LoC) continue to rise as the Pakistan Army resorted to unprovoked small arms firing across multiple sectors, including Kupwara, Baramulla, and Akhnoor, on the night of April 28- 29. This marks the fifth consecutive day of ceasefire violations. The Indian Army responded with measured and effective fire, maintaining strategic control without escalation.
The provocations follow heightened security measures in Kashmir Valley after the deadly Pahalgam terror attack on April 22, which left 26 dead. Defence Minister Rajnath Singh briefed Prime Minister Narendra Modi on the situation, while the Cabinet Committee on Security convened to strengthen India's preparedness.
In a bold move, India has suspended the Indus Waters Treaty and closed the Integrated Check Post at Attari, signaling serious diplomatic consequences. Meanwhile, international leaders have extended strong support to India, condemning terrorism in all forms and urging restraint to prevent further escalation.
