England announce squad change for 4th Test against India!

England have made a significant change to their squad ahead of the fourth Test against India at Old Trafford, Manchester. Left-arm spinner Liam Dawson has been called up to replace Shoaib Bashir, who has been ruled out due to a fractured finger sustained during fielding on Day 2 of the third Test. Bashir, who impressed with six wickets in the match, picked up the injury while stopping a ball off his own bowling.

This marks Dawson’s return to the Test squad after more than eight years, having last played in 2017. Known for his steady left-arm spin and lower-order batting, Dawson adds experience to England’s spin options alongside Joe Root and part-timer Dan Lawrence.

England currently lead the five-match series 2-1, having edged out India by 22 runs in a tense third Test at Lord’s. The inclusion of Dawson could be vital on the spinning track expected at Old Trafford. The fourth Test begins later this week, with India looking to bounce back.
