Google has introduced two new AI-powered features in its Translate app, making it easier than ever to connect across languages.
Live conversations: Users can now have real-time conversations in over 70 languages, including Hindi, Tamil, Arabic, French, Korean, and Spanish. Simply open the Translate app, tap “Live Translate,” select your languages, and start speaking. The app translates your voice aloud while showing a transcript on-screen, switching naturally between speakers. It even recognizes pauses, accents, and intonations, making conversations feel seamless.
Language practice: The new feature also lets users practice speaking and listening based on their skill level. Beginners or advanced learners can get customized scenarios, listen to conversations, tap words for comprehension, and practice speaking with AI guidance. Progress tracking helps users improve confidently, turning language learning into an interactive experience.
Why it matters: Backed by Google’s Gemini AI models, these updates are designed to bridge communication gaps, improve learning, and make cross-cultural conversations effortless. Whether for travel, work, or study, Google Translate is becoming more intelligent, intuitive, and human-like than ever.
