Feeling Drained? Stress or Burnout?

Stress and burnout are related but distinct experiences. Stress is a short-term reaction to challenges or pressures, such as work deadlines or personal issues. It's often temporary and can lead to physical symptoms like headaches, upset stomach, or difficulty sleeping, along with emotional signs like anxiety or irritability.

Burnout, however, is a prolonged state of exhaustion that occurs when stress is not properly managed. It's characterized by emotional depletion, lack of energy, cynicism, and a loss of interest in work or socializing. Burnout can affect both your mental and physical health, leaving you feeling drained and disconnected.

To manage both, it's important to address the root causes of stress, get adequate sleep, exercise regularly, practice mindfulness, and maintain a balanced diet. If stress or burnout interferes with daily life, seeking professional help is highly recommended.
