Gujarat's Mohit Bohra won the first-ever National Poker Champion (NPC) Showdown, held in Goa from April 13 to 17. The event brought together the top 12 players from the National Poker Series India 2025, each representing their home state.
The NPC Showdown was shown live on JioHotstar, helping promote poker as a mind sport in India. The tournament focused on individual skills and state pride.
Mohit Bohra, 32, used to work in his family business and run a startup before becoming a professional poker player.
His strong strategy and discipline helped him win the tournament and the top prize of INR 1 Crore. His win also earned Gujarat players free entry into a future INR 1 Crore online event on PokerBaazi.
Bohra said he was proud to represent Gujarat and valued the experience of playing against India's best.
Sreekanth KN from Kerala came second, and Ankit Wadhawan from Chandigarh finished third.
Navkiran Singh, CEO of Baazi Games, praised NPC 2025 for showing that poker is a competitive mind sport.
The NPC Showdown featured players from 12 states and was designed as a high-stakes, single-table event.
