Located just 9 km from Almora in Uttarakhand's Devbhoomi region, the Chitai Temple, also known as Golu Devta Temple, is a truly unique spiritual site.
Devoted to Lord Golu, believed to be an incarnation of Lord Shiva in his Bhairav form, this temple holds a special place in the hearts of justice seekers.
Unlike other temples, devotees here write heartfelt letters to Golu Devta, sometimes even on stamp papers, seeking divine intervention in legal or personal disputes. These letters are then tied to the temple walls, symbolizing trust in the Lord's justice.
In return, once justice is served, devotees show their gratitude by tying bells in the temple premises. The sound of thousands of bells creates a surreal and divine atmosphere. Every year, despite removing many bells, more are added - each telling a story of faith, hope, and justice. A visit here is not just spiritual, but deeply emotional.
Have you ever written a letter to God?
