High Commissioner Sanjay Kumar Verma’s remarks came as Indian missions in Ottawa and Toronto marked the 39th anniversary of the bombing in which 329 persons on board an Air India lost their lives in one of the deadliest terror-related air disasters in the history of civil aviation.

“Human lives are much more important than the transitory political interests. All terrorist activities should be met with exemplary legal and social actions before they start harming the larger humanity,” the Indian High Commissioner said during his address, in an apparent rebuke of the Canadian government’s stance on pro-Khalistan activities in the country.
