In Delhi‑NCR, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued an orange alert warning of light to moderate rainfall and gusty winds reaching up to 70 km/h.
Over the coming days, residents can expect sporadic showers and windy conditions, offering relief from persistent heat but also posing risks like falling branches and temporary disruptions to outdoor plans.
The IMD previously upgraded the forecast from a yellow to an orange alert, emphasizing the potential for moderate rainfall and strong wind gusts across the region .
Thursday night is expected to bring thunderstorms and brief heavy showers, accompanied by powerful winds. While this weather alleviates sweltering conditions, it may cause brief flight delays, reduced visibility, and safety concerns.
Authorities advise citizens to stay indoors during peak storm periods, secure loose outdoor items, and remain cautious of sudden weather changes. These precautionary measures aim to minimise disruption as the monsoon season edges closer to the capital.
