In a final that will live long in the memory, Tilak Varma held his nerve to steer India home in a riveting Asia Cup 2025 final against Pakistan. Trailing after a shaky start in the chase of 147, India marched to victory with just two balls to spare, clinching the trophy by five wickets.

Pakistan had looked formidable early, riding an 84-run opening stand between Sahibzada Farhan (57) and Fakhar Zaman (46).  But then the rot set in - they lost nine wickets for just 33 runs across the middle and late overs. Kuldeep Yadav was the architect of the collapse, finishing with 4 for 30 and triggering Pakistan’s dramatic slide. 

Chasing under pressure, India lost three early wickets (Sharma, SKY, Gill) but Tilak’s composed 69* (off 53 balls) formed the backbone of the comeback. Shivam Dube played a counterpunching 33 off 22 to revive momentum. A nervous final over from Pakistan’s Haris Rauf ended in heartbreak as Tilak launched a six to seal the win. 

India, unbeaten throughout the tournament, successfully defended their title and bagged their ninth Asia Cup crown.
