In the wake of the brutal terror attack in Pahalgam, Jammu & Kashmir, that claimed the lives of 26 people - mostly tourists - tensions between India and Pakistan have sharply escalated.
As a response, Pakistan's FM radio stations have ceased broadcasting Indian songs. The decision, announced by the Pakistan Broadcasters Association (PBA), was termed "patriotic" by Pakistan's Information Minister, Atta Tarar, reflecting what he described as the "collective sentiment of the nation."
This cultural boycott comes as both countries roll out tough diplomatic and trade measures against each other. India has shut its airspace to Pakistani flights, revoked visas, and suspended the Indus Waters Treaty. Pakistan has retaliated by closing its own airspace to Indian carriers and halting bilateral trade.
With tensions running high, the Pahalgam attack has not only intensified political standoffs but also led to cultural crackdowns across the border.
