Tensions along the Line of Control (LoC) between India and Pakistan have intensified following a deadly attack in Kashmir's Pahalgam region on April 22, which claimed the lives of 26 Hindu tourists. India has attributed the attack to Pakistan-backed militants, a claim Islamabad denies.
In response, the Indian Army has launched strong retaliatory actions across multiple sectors along the LoC. Reports indicate that Pakistani troops have abandoned several forward posts and removed national flags, signaling a potential tactical withdrawal. Indian military sources suggest that these actions are a direct consequence of India's intensified military posture.
The situation has further escalated with Pakistan's Information Minister Attaullah Tarar announcing that Islamabad possesses "credible intelligence" suggesting India may initiate a military strike within the next 24 to 36 hours. He emphasized that Pakistan is prepared to respond decisively to any aggression.
Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi has granted the military full operational freedom to determine the timing and nature of any response. This move underscores India's commitment to addressing cross-border terrorism and ensuring national security.
As both nuclear-armed neighbors remain on high alert, the situation along the LoC continues to be volatile, with the potential for further escalation if diplomatic efforts fail to de-escalate the crisis.
