Minor girl molested near Patna police station; one arrested!

On July 12, 2025, a serious incident occurred in Buddha Colony, Patna, where a minor girl was reportedly molested just outside the premises of the local Digha police station. The victim was waiting for a ride when a man allegedly a local stationery shop owner approached and inappropriately touched her. The girl alerted nearby residents immediately, prompting them to inform the police.
Law enforcement responded swiftly and arrested the accused, identified as Rakesh Kumar. A case was registered under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act, and a full investigation is currently underway. The victim has been provided with the necessary medical and psychological care.
The incident has raised serious public concern about child safety, particularly around areas expected to be secure, such as police stations. Local residents and child welfare advocates are urging authorities to enhance safety measures by improving street lighting, installing CCTV cameras, and increasing police patrols.
