On June 26 in Charholi's Choviswadi area, Pimpri‑Chinchwad fire and rescue teams retrieved the body of 18‑year‑old Vaishnavi Ingwale from a deep well after her family reported her missing the previous day . A piece of cloth suspected to belong to her found near the well led to the deployment of an underwater camera, which helped locate her body at about 45 feet deep .
Inspector Bapu Dhere of Dighi Police Station stated that preliminary findings seem to indicate an accidental death. However, authorities have not ruled out suicide or foul play, and a formal post‑mortem has been ordered to confirm the cause .
The Dighi Police are investigating various scenarios, questioning relatives and witnesses to piece together what happened between Vaishnavi’s disappearance on June 25 and her discovery on June 26 . A detailed autopsy report is expected to provide clarity on whether the death was accidental or otherwise.
