Panic swept through the City Civil Court at Purani Haveli in Hyderabad on the morning of Tuesday, July 8, 2025, after the Chief Judge received an anonymous email claiming that four RDX-based IEDs were planted within the court premises. The chilling threat prompted immediate action from authorities and disrupted proceedings at one of the city’s busiest judicial complexes.
Security forces, including bomb disposal squads, dog units, and local police, were rushed to the scene. The court complex was quickly evacuated, and an extensive search operation was carried out across all sections of the building. So far, no explosive devices have been found, but officials continue to treat the situation with utmost seriousness.
Preliminary investigations are underway to trace the origin of the email threat, and a case has been registered under relevant sections of the law. This incident comes amid heightened national security concerns and has sparked debate about the vulnerability of public institutions to digital threats.
