Rishabh Pant Set for Test Comeback Against South Africa!

India’s Test squad selection ahead of the two-match home series against South Africa national cricket team has brought a major boost: Rishabh Pant is back in the fold and named vice-captain. Pant had been sidelined since sustaining a foot fracture during the England tour earlier in the year, missing the West Indies Tests as well as other international outings.

In recent warm-up matches for India A versus South Africa A, Pant impressed with a 90-run knock in the second innings, demonstrating that his fitness and match-readiness are back. With the first Test scheduled to begin on November 14 in Kolkata, followed by the second later in Guwahati, his return is timely.

His comeback isn’t just a return to form—it signals India’s intent to field a fully sharp squad in the upcoming series, balancing experience and youth. The wicket-keeper-batter’s inclusion also puts pressure on others vying for his spot and raises expectations on him to perform immediately.

This development matters beyond the individual: for India’s Test campaign, Pant’s aggressive batting and wicket-keeping acumen add firepower and stability. His story—recovery, performance and comeback—serves as a narrative of resilience ahead of a crucial series.
