Monsoon brings relief from the summer heat but creates challenges for laundry due to high humidity and frequent rains.
The damp environment allows bacteria and fungi to thrive on wet clothes, causing unpleasant odours and stains.
To combat this, use anti-bacterial detergents or add disinfectants like Dettol during the rinse cycle to eliminate germs.
Always wash wet clothes immediately to prevent mildew buildup. Drying clothes can be tricky without sunlight; instead, dry clothes near windows, under ceiling fans, or use dehumidifiers to speed up the process.
Choosing quick-dry, lightweight fabrics such as cotton blends or synthetics can make drying faster and easier.
Even after drying, some moisture may linger, so it’s advisable to iron clothes, especially innerwear and socks, to remove any remaining dampness.
With these simple steps, you can keep your clothes fresh, clean, and odour-free throughout the monsoon season.
