Swachh Shehar 2025: India’s cleanest cities revealed!

The Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs has officially released the results of the Swachh Shehar Awards 2025 under the Swachh Bharat Mission. The awards recognize the cleanest cities in India across five population-based categories. From metro cities to small towns, these rankings highlight the efforts made by urban local bodies and citizens to ensure cleanliness, waste management, and sustainable living.

Here’s the list of top 3 performers in each category:

Category: 10 lakh & above population

  1. Ahmedabad

  2. Bhopal

  3. Lucknow

Category: 3 lakh – 10 lakh population

  1. Mira-Bhayandar

  2. Bilaspur

  3. Jamshedpur

Category: 50,000 – 3 lakh population

  1. Dewas

  2. Karad

  3. Karnal

Category: 20,000 – 50,000 population

  1. Panaji

  2. Aska

  3. Kumhari

Category: Less than 20,000 population

  1. Bilha

  2. Chikiti

  3. Shahganj

These awards reflect the growing importance of sanitation and the collective effort of citizens and administrations in building a cleaner India.
