Pratibha setu : UPSC’s talent bridge in mann ki baat!

In the 125th episode of Mann Ki Baat, Prime Minister Narendra Modi introduced Pratibha Setu, describing it as a beacon of hope for UPSC aspirants who cleared all exam stages but missed the final merit list by a narrow margin. This portal, rebranded from the earlier Public Disclosure Scheme (PDS), provides a digital “talent bridge,” allowing these meritorious candidates to be visible to potential employers across government, PSUs, autonomous bodies, and the private sector.

Upskilling the opportunity, only volunteering candidates are listed, and only verified organizations armed with Corporate Identity Numbers (CINs) and login credentials can access their soft biodata, including educational qualifications, exam performance, and contact details.

The portal already houses data of over 10,000 high-performing UPSC aspirants, extending opportunity beyond mere exam rankings. The success of this initiative is already underway: the Employees’ State Insurance Corporation (ESIC) has hired 451 qualified candidates as Insurance Medical Officers via Pratibha Setu an early win for the platform’s effectiveness.
