The United States appears to be strategizing a quiet trade war to economically isolate China, as it strengthens trade relationships with key Asian partners like Vietnam and India. With global supply chains shifting post-pandemic and geopolitical tensions rising, the US is reportedly working on trade agreements and economic partnerships that bypass China’s influence.
Vietnam is already in advanced talks over a trade pact, while India is actively negotiating and playing a more significant role in these discussions. The aim is to diversify manufacturing bases and reduce dependency on China without making aggressive, public moves that might escalate diplomatic tensions.
Meanwhile, Beijing remains watchful and wary. Chinese officials have expressed concern over these developments, interpreting them as a calculated strategy by the US to contain China’s growing global economic clout.
This shift may redefine global trade dynamics, especially in Asia. For India, this presents both opportunity and challenge balancing geopolitical interests while benefiting from new economic openings.
