However, certain specialized fields such as astronomy, navigation, and scientific research may be granted exceptions if they secure prior government approval. To make this vision a reality, the Department of Consumer Affairs is working closely with the National Physical Laboratory and the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) to establish a reliable system for generating and disseminating time. This system will provide critical support to ensure seamless integration and accuracy across various sectors. The rules don’t stop at implementation; compliance will be closely monitored. Violations will result in penalties, and regular audits will be conducted to ensure adherence to the standards. These measures aim to maintain consistency and accountability in time-sensitive operations across industries. The government is also seeking input from the public to refine these draft rules further.
