Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu unveiled the state's Aerospace and Defense Policy 4.0 (2025-2030) on Monday, setting an ambitious target of attracting ₹50,000-1 lakh crore investment over five years.
The policy aims to establish Andhra Pradesh as India's premier aerospace and defence manufacturing hub through specialized corridors: Visakhapatnam-Srikakulam for naval systems, Jaggaiahpet-Donakonda for missiles, Kurnool-Orvakal for drones, and Lepakshi-Madakasira for aerospace electronics. Tirupati will host a DRDO Centre of Excellence for R&D.
Naidu emphasized strengthening MSMEs with a proposed ₹100 crore annual corpus fund and logistics subsidies. He highlighted the "One Family, One Entrepreneur" vision while stressing quality benchmarks for allied industries.
Currently, 23 companies have invested ₹22,000 crores in the state's aerospace clusters, employing 17,000 people. With India's defence market valued at ₹1.27 lakh crore annually, the policy positions Andhra Pradesh to capture significant market share.
