Imagine bombing an interview-and then finding out years later it's been secretly circulating as a “training video” to warn others about you. That's exactly what one Berlin-based tech entrepreneur recently discovered in a jaw-dropping revelation on Reddit.
Years ago, amid a stressful job hunt, the entrepreneur admitted to underperforming in an interview-struggling with technical questions and facing condescending remarks. “You claim you worked at NASA but can't explain an un-embedding layer in a Transformer?” he recalled being told. Overwhelmed and burnt out, he eventually moved on, launching his own tech startup.
Fast forward to today-after posting about a new project on LinkedIn, he was shocked when potential clients referenced a mysterious “interview video.” One even mentioned it came with a letter of warning-yes, a formal heads-up about working with him.
He Gave Consent… But Not For This: Turns out, the interviewers had asked to record the session. He agreed-never imagining it would be weaponized years later. “Just one bad interview,” he wrote, could now be costing him business.
