Christopher Nolan’s Interstellar Returns to IMAX in India with Record-Breaking Demand

Christopher Nolan's sci-fi masterpiece Interstellar is all set to return to IMAX theatres in India on February 7, celebrating its 10th anniversary. The re-release has sparked massive excitement, with nearly 100,000 tickets already sold since advance bookings opened on Sunday. According to industry tracker Sacnilk, pre-sales have already crossed 75,000 and are climbing rapidly for the opening weekend.

To meet the extraordinary demand, the IMAX screen at Miraj Cinemas Wadala in Mumbai has announced round-the-clock screenings. Warner Bros. India confirmed the news on X, stating, "The countdown begins! Advance bookings are now open for round-the-clock shows of Interstellar at Miraj IMAX Wadala, Mumbai."

Globally, the re-release has been a massive success. During its two-week IMAX engagement in North America in December 2024, the film grossed $24.5 million worldwide. Though it was re-released internationally earlier, the India launch was delayed due to IMAX screens being allocated to Allu Arjun's blockbuster Pushpa 2: The Rule.

Originally released in 2014, Interstellar earned $681 million globally and remains one of Nolan's most beloved films. Starring Matthew McConaughey, Anne Hathaway, and Jessica Chastain, it tells the story of a desperate mission to find a new planet for humanity.

Miraj Cinemas' Wadala IMAX, with its massive 70-by-40-foot screen and cutting-edge laser technology, offers the perfect venue for this cinematic experience. Don't miss this once-in-a-decade opportunity to witness Nolan's visionary epic in all its IMAX glory, book your tickets now!
