Oil marketing companies have slashed commercial LPG cylinder prices by ₹58.50, effective July 1st, bringing Delhi's 19kg cylinder rate to ₹1,665. This follows a Rs 24 cut in June from the previous ₹1,723.50 rate.
The reduction offers significant relief to hotels, restaurants, and small businesses that depend heavily on LPG for daily operations. However, domestic users won't benefit as 14.2kg household cylinder prices remain unchanged despite consumer demands for review.
India's crude oil basket averaging $64.5 per barrel in May 2025 - the lowest in three years - has enabled this price relief. If crude stays near $65, oil companies expect LPG-related losses to drop 45% in FY2026.
With 90% of India's LPG consumed by households and domestic connections doubling to 33 crore by April 2025, cooking gas remains integral to Indian daily life.
