In the early hours of June 24, two friends - law student Harsh (25) and his friend Abhishek - stood near a service-lane railing by a dhaba on the Delhi–Jaipur Highway in Gurugram. Around 3 a.m., a speeding white Skoda Rapid came toward them. The driver, 31-year-old civil engineer Mohit, said he fell asleep at the wheel while returning to his paying-guest accommodation .
CCTV footage shows the car rushing into them, flinging Harsh about 10 meters. He died at the scene, while Abhishek was rushed to hospital in critical but stable condition. Bystanders chased the car, but the driver initially fled. Police identified him through the video and arrested him on June 26 .
Mohit, who lives in Noorpur Bohra Kalan and works for a multinational, claimed drowsiness caused the crash . Authorities seized the vehicle and registered an FIR under negligence and rash driving. The tragic death of Harsh - an LLB student from Om Vihar - is now tied to a painful reminder of the dangers of driving while fatigued.
