Bhumi Pednekar introduces ‘Backbay’ Himalayan water for ₹200!

Bollywood actor Bhumi Pednekar and her twin sister Samiksha Pednekar have launched a premium Himalayan mineral water brand called Backbay. They claim the water is untouched by human hands and sourced directly from their facility in Himachal Pradesh. The sisters have been working on the brand for two years, with a goal to combine sustainability and luxury.

Price and Packaging
Backbay water comes in two sizes - 500 ml for ₹150 and 750 ml for ₹200. Bhumi says this is accessible compared to expensive glass bottled water that can cost up to ₹600, and plastic bottles priced at around ₹90. The brand uses Gable Top Paper packaging and a bio cap to reduce plastic waste.

Mixed Online Reactions
While some appreciated the eco-friendly approach, many social media users mocked the price. Comments compared the packaging to Amul tetra packs, and memes called it “overpriced water” and “Bollywood bubble thinking.”

Bhumi’s Vision
Bhumi aims to make Backbay a household name in schools, hotels, airports, and restaurants, targeting a ₹100 crore turnover in the next four years. She hopes it will encourage people to choose sustainable hydration over plastic bottles.
