The Royal Legacy that still shines in Jodhpur's Bibaji Churi Wale!

In the winding lanes near Jodhpur’s iconic Ghanta Ghar, Bibaji Churi Wale stands as a monument to tradition, skill, and entrepreneurial courage that began over 150 years ago.

Founded by a visionary grandmother - Bibiji - who braved societal norms under the strict Rajasthani purdah system, the business began when she carried baskets of bangles atop her head into royal courts, helping palace women don their bangles and earning their trust. Her elegant salesmanship and innovation quickly made her a royal favorite.

The family business passed to her son, Mohammad Baksh - later affectionately known as “Bibaji”—and today, Abdul Satar Biba, his grandson, continues the legacy. Known for pioneering crystal bangles in Jodhpur and offering bespoke pieces tailored by color, shine, size, and studs, Bibaji Churi Wale remains a cultural gem.

The diminutive shop has drawn admirers ranging from royalty to celebrities like Hilary Clinton, Sachin Tendulkar, and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan—all enchanted by its handpicked, vibrant bangles. Yet what truly defines the place is Abdul’s knack for intuitively matching bangles to individual tastes—a skill meticulously nurtured across generations.

Bibaji Churi Wale is not just a bangle shop - it’s a living legacy that captures the soul of Jodhpur’s art, culture, and enduring family craftsmanship.
