The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has landed in trouble with the International Cricket Council (ICC) following repeated violations during the Asia Cup 2025.
The controversy began after the India–Pakistan match on September 14, when Pakistan protested against match referee Andy Pycroft. Despite ICC’s refusal to remove him, Pakistan delayed their game against the UAE by an hour and allegedly broke strict Players and Match Officials Area (PMOA) rules.
According to reports, PCB allowed its media manager Naeem Gillani to film a sensitive pre-toss meeting between Pycroft, coach Mike Hesson, and captain Salman Ali Agha, an act barred by ICC rules. The board also threatened to withdraw from the match if its demands were not met.
The ICC has strongly objected, calling PCB’s actions misconduct and a breach of protocol, warning that such behavior disregards the “sanctity” of official match proceedings.
