In a heartwarming yet controversial turn of events, a soldier from the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), Munir Ahmed, has tied the knot with Manel Khan, a woman from Pakistan's Punjab region, sparking quite a stir in Jammu and Kashmir.
Despite the long-standing tension between India and Pakistan, this love story has transcended borders.
Munir, currently posted in Shiv Khori, Reasi district, married Manel on May 24, 2024, but due to visa issues, they exchanged vows via video call, showing how love finds a way even in the most challenging circumstances.
Manel, daughter of Mohammad Asgar Khan from Gujranwala, Pakistan, finally received a 15-day visa, allowing her to travel to India via the Attari-Wagah border to join her husband in his village, Bhalwal, Jammu.
The arrival of the Pakistani bride was met with eager anticipation by her in-laws and the local community, who warmly welcomed her with traditional customs.
The news quickly spread, and villagers gathered to catch a glimpse of Manel. However, her arrival has caught the attention of authorities, with intelligence agencies on alert. The police are keeping a close watch on her activities, given the sensitivity of the situation.
Despite this, Munir's family assures that Manel entered India legally, with all necessary clearances. Since her arrival, Manel has embraced her new life, helping her in-laws by preparing and serving traditional Rajasthani dishes.
