
Legendary actor Manoj Kumar, known for his patriotic films, passed away at the age of 87 in Mumbai due to heart-related complications and liver cirrhosis. He was admitted to Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani Hospital, where he breathed his last at 3:30 am on Friday.
A towering figure in Indian cinema, Kumar's patriotic zeal shone through films like Upkaar, Purab Aur Paschim, and Kranti, earning him the nickname ‘Bharat Kumar’. His son Kunal Goswami shared that the actor had been battling health issues for a long time.
Tributes poured in, with PM Narendra Modi calling him an “icon of Indian cinema” and Rajnath Singh highlighting his contributions to India's cultural legacy.
With awards like the Padma Shri (1992) and the Dadasaheb Phalke Award (2015), Manoj Kumar's cinematic legacy remains immortal, inspiring generations of artists and patriots alike.
