Prime Minister Narendra Modi recently met singer-actor Diljit Dosanjh and praised him as "a combination of talent and tradition." During their interaction, they discussed music, culture, yoga, and India’s vibrancy. Sharing snippets of their meeting on Instagram, PM Modi described it as "a very memorable interaction," while Dosanjh called it "a fantastic start to 2025" in a tweet.
The Prime Minister lauded Dosanjh for living up to his name, "Diljit" (winner of hearts), and acknowledged his global appeal. Dosanjh expressed admiration for PM Modi’s heartfelt references to his mother and Ganga Maa, which resonated deeply with him. Highlighting India’s vastness and cultural richness, the Prime Minister emphasized how the country’s diversity is its strength. Dosanjh echoed these sentiments, calling yoga a "magical creation from India" and praised the PM’s human side beyond his political role.
As part of their interaction, Dosanjh performed a devotional song on Guru Nanak and gifted PM Modi a special poster from his recently concluded "Dil-Luminati" tour. The two-month tour, which started in October 2024, spanned major Indian cities and concluded in Ludhiana on New Year’s Eve. Dosanjh dedicated one of his concerts to former PM Manmohan Singh, praising his simplicity and integrity.
The meeting between PM Modi and Diljit Dosanjh highlighted mutual respect, appreciation for Indian culture, and a shared commitment to celebrating the country’s artistic and spiritual heritage.
