Fire at automobile service centre in Pune’s Sinhagad Road, 25 two-wheelers gutted

At least 25 two-wheelers were gutted in a major fire that started at an automobile service centre located in Pune’s Sinhagad Road Thursday morning. No casualties were reported in the incident.
Fire Brigade officials said the fire started at around 7.45 am. Some local residents saw smoke coming out of the closed service Centre and informed the Fire Brigade control room. Five fire tenders from nearby fire stations were pressed into service.
Fire Officer Prabhakar Umratkar said no one was inside the establishment as the service centre was closed. Umratkar said the fire was brought under control within 20 minutes. Subsequently, a cooling operation was conducted by spraying water to avoid any secondary fires, he added.
Fire brigade officials said at least 25 two-wheelers which were inside the service centre were completely gutted in the fire. The cause of the fire is being investigated.
