From Rejection to Leadership: Who is Ragini Das?

Ragini Das has been appointed Head of Google for Startups - India, marking a full-circle moment in her career. She revealed that in 2013 she interviewed with Google but didn’t make it past the final round. Instead, she joined Zomato, where she spent about six years.

Das then co-founded Leap.club in 2020, a platform designed to help women expand their professional networks, find jobs, build visibility, and grow in leadership roles. Leap.club, which had thousands of users and paid members, paused operations in June 2025.

Educated with a BBA (First Class Honours) from Lancaster University and schooled at Chettinad Vidyashram, Chennai, Das also interned at Standard Chartered, worked with Aludecor, Trident Group, among others.

In her new Google role, Ragini will lead efforts to support early-stage startups in India—connecting founders with resources, mentorship, products, and best practices. She describes the position as aligning perfectly with her journey so far.
