Ibrahim Ali Khan to critic: “If I see you on the streets...”

Bollywood newcomer Ibrahim Ali Khan, son of Saif Ali Khan and Amrita Singh, has acknowledged sending a threatening direct message to Pakistani film critic Tamur Iqbal following a personal remark about his appearance in a review of his debut film, Nadaaniyan.

In an interview with Filmfare, Ibrahim admitted, “I know I shouldn’t have reacted but I’m also new to public scrutiny. When he made that personal comment about my body, it felt like a below-the-belt remark. But going forward, I’ll be more composed. I shouldn’t have reacted. It won’t happen again.”

The controversy began when Iqbal criticized Ibrahim's performance and made a derogatory comment about his nose. In response, Ibrahim sent a message stating, “Tamur almost like Taimur .. you got my brother's name. Guess what you don't got? His face. You ugly piece of trash... if I see you on the streets one day, I'll make sure I leave you uglier than you are.”

The message was shared publicly by Iqbal, leading to widespread discussion online. While some criticized Ibrahim's reaction, others defended him, suggesting the critic's comments were unprofessional.

Nadaaniyan, a romantic comedy released on Netflix in March, also starred Khushi Kapoor. The film received mixed reviews, with particular attention to the performances of its lead actors. Ibrahim acknowledged the criticism, stating, “Sure, as a lead actor, I have to bring in loads more than what I did. I know I can bring it and I am confident that I will bring it in my future projects.”
