Mohanlal’s L2: Empuraan, directed by Prithviraj Sukumaran, has become a political flashpoint after its depiction of the 2002 Gujarat riots and a villain with right-wing undertones. While the Sangh Parivar calls it "anti-Hindu," the Congress and Left have lauded its political messaging.
However, the BJP distanced itself, saying viewers should decide for themselves. Meanwhile, writer Murali Gopy refuses to engage in the debate, asserting that interpretation is subjective.
Despite the backlash, Empuraan is unstoppable at the box office. It earned ₹100 crore globally in just two days, setting new records for Malayalam cinema. With its blend of action, politics, and controversy, the film continues to dominate discussions and theaters alike!
