The Indian government has issued a critical security warning for iPhone and iPad users due to multiple vulnerabilities in Apple's iOS and iPadOS.
CERT-In, the Indian Computer Emergency Response Team under the Ministry of Electronics and IT, rated the threat as high-severity.
These vulnerabilities affect a broad range of Apple devices, from older to newer models, including iPhones running iOS versions before 18.3 and iPads on versions earlier than 17.7.3 or 18.3, depending on the model.
Affected models include the iPhone XS and above, iPad Pro (2nd gen onwards), iPad 6th gen and newer, iPad Air from the 3rd gen, and iPad mini from the 5th gen.
One serious issue lies in Apple's Darwin system, which could allow apps to send critical system notifications without permission.
This could crash devices or make them unusable. CERT-In warns that these vulnerabilities are being actively exploited.
Apple has released updates to fix these flaws, and users are urged to update immediately, avoid untrusted apps, and watch for suspicious activity.
