In a major move aligned with the Atmanirbhar Bharat vision, over 75 Indian consulting and accounting firms have come together to form a unified entity: Bhartiya Global Consulting Firm (BGCF). The goal? To build a homegrown, globally competitive consulting brand that can rival international firms like the Big Four: Deloitte, PwC, EY, and KPMG.
This initiative is backed by the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) and is seen as a strategic push to reduce reliance on foreign consulting networks, while elevating India’s own capabilities in auditing, consulting, taxation, and advisory services.
The idea is to pool expertise, resources, and client bases, enabling Indian firms to handle large-scale domestic and international projects under a common brand. It also reflects a growing demand among Indian corporates and government bodies to work with indigenous firms that understand local complexities.
The move is expected to enhance India's soft power in the professional services space and could also create more jobs and training opportunities for young professionals in the country.
