A bomb threat email received on May 2 has prompted heightened security in Kullu, Himachal Pradesh, as it warned of possible explosions at government offices and public places within the next 24 hours.
The Office of the Deputy Commissioner and the District Disaster Management Authority have issued alerts to all relevant authorities. Police, intelligence agencies, and bomb disposal units have been deployed across the region to assess the threat's credibility and track its origin.
This is the fourth bomb threat received in Himachal Pradesh recently, following similar alerts in the Mandi, Hamirpur, and Chamba districts. A previous threat in Mandi had referenced the state chief secretary's office and hinted at coordinated actions with incidents in Tamil Nadu.
Elsewhere, on April 28, several key government locations in Kerala, including the Raj Bhavan, the Chief Minister's residence, and Kochi airport, received bomb threats, which were later confirmed to be hoaxes.
Similarly, on April 27, hotels and the international airport in Thiruvananthapuram also faced hoax threats.
Police have conducted thorough inspections and are working to trace the sources of these threatening emails.
