Modi hails RSS’ centenary role in Nation-Building, releases stamp & coin!

On October 1, 2025, Prime Minister Narendra Modi lauded the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) for its century-long contributions to nation-building, stressing that the organisation “showed no bitterness despite attacks.” Modi made the remarks at a Delhi ceremony marking the RSS’s 100th anniversary, where he released a special postage stamp and a commemorative Rs 100 coin to honor the organization’s legacy.

He noted that despite repeated bans, allegations, and conspiracies aimed at weakening the RSS, it remained steadfast in its mission, never resorting to bitterness toward critics. Modi highlighted the RSS’s vast reach across India, its efforts to rise above divisions of caste or creed, and its central commitment to “nation first.”

The new coin features an image of Bharat Mata in Varada Mudra and depicts swayamsevaks bowing before her—a first in independent India. Modi remarked that the release of these items was symbolic, reaffirming the government’s recognition of the RSS’s role in shaping India’s social and cultural fabric.
