India fast bowler Mohammed Siraj was today named the ICC Men’s Player of the Month for August 2025 after his match-winning performance at The Oval against England. Siraj’s final day heroics in the fifth Test, where he claimed nine wickets (4/86 in the first innings and 5/104 in the second), sealed a narrow six-run win for India and helped draw the series 2-2.

In the women’s category, Ireland all-rounder Orla Prendergast earned the ICC Player of the Month honour after a month of brilliant T20I displays. She scored 144 runs and took 4 wickets in Ireland’s 2-1 win over Pakistan, followed by dominant performances in the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup Europe Qualifier, where she notched up 244 runs and 7 wickets.

Siraj beat out fellow fast bowlers Matt Henry of New Zealand and Jayden Seales of West Indies for the men’s award. On the women’s side, Orla surpassed Pakistan wicketkeeper-batter Muneeba Ali and Netherlands seam bowler Iris Zwilling.
