Morning or night? The perfect time to eat walnuts revealed!

Walnuts are more than just a crunchy snack-they’re a superfood packed with omega‑3s, antioxidants, fibre, and melatonin. But did you know when you eat them can make a huge difference?

Morning munching is ideal if you want to power up your brain and metabolism. A handful (around 50g) with breakfast improves memory, stabilizes blood sugar, and provides lasting energy. The healthy fats and fibre keep cravings at bay, aiding weight loss and heart health. Soaking them overnight boosts digestibility and supports gut health too.

Nighttime nibbling, however, is perfect if you’re craving better sleep. Walnuts are one of the few plant foods naturally rich in melatonin and magnesium-nutrients that improve sleep quality and reduce stress. But don’t overeat at night, especially if you have a sensitive stomach, as they are high in fats.

Final verdict? Eat walnuts in the morning for energy and clarity, and in the evening for calm and sleep-based on your goals. Keep portions moderate (3–7 walnut halves), and avoid sugary versions to get the full benefits of this powerful nut.
